TITP

What Is Technical Intern Training Program (TITP)?

The Technical Intern Training Program was established as a formal program in 1993 based on the high evaluations of training programs conducted by overseas local companies and others in the form of employee education starting in the late 1960s.

The objectives and purpose of the Technical Intern Training Program are:

  • To transfer skills
  • To transfer technologies
  • Or to transfer knowledge (“Skills etc.”)

accumulated in Japan to developing and other regions and to promote international cooperation by contributing to the development of human resources who can play roles in the economic development of those developing regions.

The Technical Intern trainees can acquire, master, or enhance Skills etc. that would be difficult to acquire in their home countries. The training period is a maximum of five years, and acquisition of Skills etc. is conducted pursuant to technical intern training plans.

Applicants will go through in-house IQ and EQ, psychological, and math tests. Initial screening of documents and interviews will be conducted as part of the application process.
There will be a session conducted for program and employer orientation.
Applicants will be chosen for the interview based on the qualifications set by the employer, which can be conducted either online or in-person.
Successful applicants are required to undergo a medical examination before proceeding with the pre-Japanese training.
Once the medical examination is successfully passed, the preparation of documents for the certificate of eligibility will commence.
Pre-Nihongo Training and Japan Culture and Etiquettes will be conducted for 4-6 months.
Obtaining of Certificate of Eligibility (COE) to be used for the Visa Application.
Processing of Visa application and all DMW certification and seminars need before leaving the country. Pre-departure orientation also be conducted.
At the airport, all trainees will be assembled to receive the essential documents and information required for entry into Japan.

SSW

Specified Skilled Worker is a status of residence created to give foreign nationals more opportunities to work in Japan. There are two types of Specified Skilled Worker status of residence: type (i) and type (ii). The type (ii) status of residence requires more specialized skills than type (i). Source - www.ssw.go.jp

Target Segment

Those who can work in Japan as a SSW must be over 18 years old in a good health, have the necessary occupational skills and Japanese language ability to work immediately without receiving any particular training. Skills and Japanese proficiency will be confirmed by a unified test conducted by Japan

Japanese language level required

Proficiency in Japanese language required in daily life and at the workplace needs to be confirmed by exams, etc.

Period of stay

Renewed every 1 year, 6 months or 4 months, up to 5 years in total, but you cannot bring your family.

Applicable specific sectors

An aspiring SSW candidate can participate in the SSW program through 14 sectors specified by the Government of Japan. These sectors are: Nursing care, Building cleaning management, Machine parts & tooling industries, Industrial machinery industry, Electric, electronics and information Industries, Construction industry, Shipbuilding and ship machinery industry, Automobile repair and maintenance, Aviation industry, Accommodation industry, Agriculture, Fishery & aquaculture, Manufacture of food and beverages, Food service industry. Skill standards required

Confirmed by exams, etc. (those who have completed Technical Intern Training (ii) are exempted from exams, etc.)
